Museums

The University has more than a dozen museums including the Berkeley Art Museum, one of the largest art museums in the United States. International in scope, this museum's facilities include eleven exhibition galleries, a large, permanent collection of Hans Hoffman paintings, and a sculpture garden. The Pacific Film Archive, once housed in the museum and now across the street, lets you enjoy nightly screenings that range from Hollywood classic and international films to experimental video works.

The cultures and peoples of the world are the focus of the Hearst Museum of Anthropology's collection and changing exhibitions. Within the museum's vast collection of art, artifacts, ethnological documents, and archeological finds, you'll find everything from Egyptian tomb sculpture to Incan textiles and native American basketry.

Other museums include the Worth Ryder Art Gallery spotlighting works by students and the Museum of Paleontology and Zoology.
