Mario's “La Fiesta” Restaurant Moves — Mario and Rosalinda Tejada, owners of Mario's “La Fiesta” Mexican Restaurant, relocated their restaurant to a beautiful site located at 2506 Haste St. (behind Amoeba Records & next to People's Park). The restaurant's decor has totally changed — gone is the small, atmospheric space. The restaurant now occupies a spacious, light-filled long banquet room with additional seating in the
rear courtyard. It really has the feeling of a festive restaurant in San Miguel de Allende.
The Tejada's also rent the space for special parties or events with mariachi bands.
Mario and Rosalinda were celebrated by the city of Berkeley several years ago and had a day named after them in honor of their continuous service to the community, neighbors & fellow merchants in the Telegraph Area.
We wish them great success at their new locale. It is always a treat to eat at Mario's.
Berkeley's Telegraph Avenue is an adventure. One of most interesting streets in the San Francisco Bay Area, it is lined with crafts vendors selling their handmade clothing, jewelry, crafts and artwork; restaurants and cafes representing diverse cultures; and shops selling everything from Tibetan ritual artifacts to hats. All are a part of the colorful landscape of Telegraph Ave.
We list the Daily Californian’s annual reader-voted contest to find the best people, places, and businesses in Berkeley. The Best of Berkeley 2009 . Naturally, Telegraph Avenue has more of these "Best" than any other area in Berkeley or the East Bay. This is another reason why people love to come to Telegraph Ave.
We also list the Telegraph businesses that won the East Bay Express' Best of the East Bay 2009. You will find these Best winners by checking out the Dining, Entertainment, Merchants and Organization pages. Enjoy!
